Veja x Flaneurz
For the summer of 2017, Veja and Flaneurz joined forces to launch a pair of rollerskate sneakers. Installed at the Courneuve and rewarded with the Talents des Cités prize, the two young founders of Flaneurz revolutionize rollerblades by adapting sneakers on a roller platform.
This is the first time Flaneurz is collaborating with a brand and they chose to transform Veja’s cult V-10 model. With a metal interface placed inside the sneaker, the rollerskate becomes retractable. Assembled at the Courneuve (Ile-de-France), Flaneurz’ innovative concept directly contributes to the economic and cultural development of the city.
The sneakers are made of wild rubber from Amazonia, with an organic cotton sole and leather upper, all ecologically processed in Brazil. The skates are made in France.
More than two years of research and development have allowed Flaneurz to move from functional prototype to small series production. The brand meets its social responsibility as their offices and workshops are located at the nursery of La Courneuve. Flaneurz is thus participating in the dynamism of the northern suburbs of Paris, and in particular in improving the image of the district.
Veja creates ecological, fair trade sneakers from fairly traded materials like cotton and rubber. Working with small cooperatives and associations in Brazil and France since 2006, Veja is socially and environmentally conscious. Packaging is made with recycled cardboard, and all of the raw materials are transported from sustainable factories in Brazil to the headquarters in France.
Veja has previously made capsule collections with Bleu de Paname, Bobo Choses, Agnès B., Merci, Comptoir des Cotonniers and Bonpoint.
