Recently Emma Watson and Marion Cotillard named Veja as their favourite brand. If the name doesn’t sound familiar, that’s because founders François-Ghislain Morillion and Sébastien Kopp lack an endorsement strategy and have taken a slow but steady approach. As a matter of fact, you could describe Veja as Paris’s favourite sneaker brand that you haven’t heard about. Besides Watson and Cotillard, the brand has been spotted on celebrities like Mélanie Laurent and Eddie Redmayne.

Although the sneakers are much more than covetable footwear. Veja creates ecological, fair trade sneakers from fairly traded materials like cotton and rubber. Working with small cooperatives and associations in Brazil and France since 2006, Veja is socially and environmentally conscious. Packaging is made with recycled cardboard, and all of the raw materials are transported from sustainable factories in Brazil to the headquarters in France.

Veja is expanding its range with a new collection of sneakers designed with luxurious silk, sourced from a company called Bratac in Brazil, which has supplied Hermès for decades.
